Geoff + Krista

We're an average couple who decided to try something different.

In another life, we were scrappy lawyers who truly enjoyed helping people but eventually realized we'd burned out. Maybe we flew too close to the sun, maybe we were never meant to be lawyers, or maybe we got bored or disillusioned, but whatever the reason we knew we were ready for a change.

So, what do two landlubbing-lawyers from the Arizona desert decide to do next? Become sailors, of course! After all, we both love adventure and the outdoors, so sailing easily ticked all our boxes. Our main problem was that, while we had big dreams of blue water sailing, we had little experience.

All that changed in 2017. We begun learning to sail on a local lake, got some additional experience off the California coast, and eventually got to the point were we were chartering other people's yachts in far away places. That quickly led to a desire to have our own boat, kitted out the way we wanted. And that led to us abandoning our familiar lives for the unfamiliar.

These days our beloved-boat, Moksha, is based in the West Indies where we continue to explore the Caribbean. And, happily, we have no concrete plans besides making the most of our lives and, along the way, finding ways to learn from and contribute to our community.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did.

So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover.
